is there any non-Matt who sees the same errors ;-) ?
I did.
But if there is a guru to point in the right direction, that would be great!
I'm not a guru, but I found the problem.
Since a few days, when I run SuSEconfig I get the messages below: [...] Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susehilf... Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susewm... SuSEwm: ERROR: gnome: no "name" defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.ypclient... Processing index files of all manpages... Finished.
I would be happy if anyone could tell me what 's wrong?
I started to see the same errors recently as well, but since I just installed 7.3 a few days ago (and been updating as well), I just started having more problems with my whole system locking up tight (only the reset button would get me out- Real Bad). IN the console I checked through the logs to remember when it started. It came down to 2 possible YOU updates, which only 1 choice logical, Koffice. SInce I just installed it to test (and haven't really yet), I just uninstalled it. Now, SuSEconfig runs with NO problems. I'm hoping it will also solve my lockups. HTH.
I'd been updating with YOU as well. I reinstalled koffice-1.1-136 from SuSE's KDE 2.2.2 site and the error messages are now gone. David
