driver for external hard disc drive

On my system, a dual boot DOS and SuSE I have an external hard disc which I can address in DOS with the help of a device driver. Had a google on this driver -EB850i- with early nill result. The information about the builder of this device showed some very general information about a Taiwan company and an email address of same. Looking after the general name of the device driver -MCDS- gave me a lot of information but most of it was about Mac Donalds. The few leads under device driver/linux did not give me any useful pointers. Has somebody an idea if there is a possibility to address this harddisc which is connected to a parallel port?
