Weird thing - when I reboot my computer (which rarely ever happens) I cannot switch to tty1-6 because CTRL-ALT-F1 to F6 don't do anything. I use Gnome2 and GDM, and it already doesn't work in the GDM login screen.
which openSUSE version? 11.2 x64_64 I'll browse through bugzilla reports tomorrow, maybe I'll find something, thanks.
There is another solution: set the computer to boot in runlevel 3. That's not a solution, that's a huge step back right into the 1990s ;) In other words: no, booting into runlevel 3, then logging in and starting the GUI manually is not an option.
I've always done and do it like that way. It's even faster. And you can twiddle stuff with wrapper scripts such as using different environments or different config file(set)s. But each to his taste, it's a good thing[tm] that one can choose. Oh, next time: try using a Windows-key instead of Ctrl+Alt. With either one or both of 11.1 and 11.2 those were IIRC the default keys for the XF86Switch... function. You can change that via KDE/Gnome stuff or the Xmodmap. I'll look it up in my ~/.Xmodmap (of the box running 11.2) if you need it. -dnh PS: you know there's opensuse-de? -- "...you want a .sig with that?" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
