Hello,
I got an asus laptop S400C that works fairly well with openSUSE
however, I have a video problem.
internal lcd works perfectly (1366x768), but external (hdmi) don't accept more than 1440x900 when Windows 8 accepts the full HD 1920x1080 (on compatible monitor, of course).
Kde setup do not allow more
video seems to be Intel 3rd Gen Core i915
any idea?
thanks jdd
Hi When you plug in the HDMI device and then run the command xrandr does it show the resolution your after? I only have second gen intel here, but it works fine up to max monitor resolution of 1680x1050. /sbin/lspci -nnk |grep VGA -A3 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0106] (rev 09) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:167e] Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3046 x 1050, maximum 32767 x 32767 LVDS1 connected primary 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 309mm x 173mm 1366x768 60.1*+ 1024x768 60.0 800x600 60.3 56.2 640x480 59.9 VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) HDMI1 connected 1680x1050+1366+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 408mm x 255mm 1680x1050 60.0*+ 1600x1200 60.0 1400x1050 59.9 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1440x900 59.9 1280x960 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 75.0 72.8 66.7 60.0 720x400 70.1 640x400 70.0 DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° SUSE Knowledge Partner (Linux Counter #276890) openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) GNOME 3.10.1 Kernel 3.11.10-7-desktop up 3 days 9:27, 4 users, load average: 0.05, 0.03, 0.05 CPU Intel® B840@1.9GHz | GPU Intel® Sandybridge Mobile -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
