I could not find a way to do an upgrade when Installing from FTP. Is this possible? It tells you in the side bar that an upgrade will take a long time etc etc, but it only actually gives you the option for new install, or boot installed system...
Peter, To do an ftp upgrade you have to enter 'suse_upgrade' (without the quotes, of course) in the kernel options section that you see on the kernel selection screen after booting with the iso download. The upgrade went reasonably smooth but the upgrade utility would not allow me to keep my kderc2 version. It insisted on downgrading by installing kde 3.03. Otherwise, I was given the option of keeping various versions of software on the computer. If you do an automatic install, you may be disappointed with the results. At one point during the upgrade process I got dumped and lost connectivity. I rebooted the iso cd and, after connecting, the installer picked up the pieces and finished the upgrade successfully. Seems very stable at this time although YMMV, of course. Now I'm going to try to re-setup my zaurus connectivity. It was pretty easy with 8.0..... Good Luck, Ken
