Just to exclude HW problem, can you make a copy image of the dvd?
dd if=/dev/dvd of=mydvd.iso
If this works, can you paste a copy of the log file?
Sunny Well I went back to 9.2 and Dvdrip works perfectly so I guess from that it has to be software issue.
I have upgraded my Kde to 3.4 so I can still use some of the nice things that Suse 9.3 had ie amarok. So for the moment I will stick with 9.2. When I get some more time I will create a seperate partition on the drive and "play" with 9.3 to see why "any" dvdripping software wont work. btw good idea to try dd. I'll try that as well.
