Similarly if you attempt to save as pdf it throws an error:
"Error on saving Untitled 1 Wrong Parameter. The operation was started with an invalid parameter."
Prior version I had installed worked the one before that had problems.
Any hints on what might causing the problem?

I have seen e-mails in this mailing list reporting similar problem, and it turned out that the user was trying to save files in directories he did not have permission to do so, like the ones owned by the root user.
