Hi David, Thanks for the advice but what does
"Just right-click opensuseupdater in the sys tray"
mean.
I have opensuse10.3 and cannot find anything matching this? What is a "tray" - is it the list of options in a pop-up or pull-down menu? Which menu - I have searched all I could find.

In the KDE menu it is "start menu->System->Desktop Applet->openSuSE Updater Applet" its icon looks like the green opensuse lizard head with wings on it in the \ position (best description I have). It runs the check for automatic system updates. The problem is that if you have a number of repositories added, it must check/refresh each one that can eat up 10 minutes easily with a lot of disk I/O and cpu. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
