I've done this few days ago, without any program like Ghost, just following
notes in "Hard Disk Upgrade" mini-how-to. There was some minor problems in
configuring LILO, but everything ended fine.

Hello: Tried to use symantec's ghost program to copy entire linux hard drive to a second identical hard drive. Nope, didn't work. What's the fundamental concept, here? The second hard drive was simply reformatted, with nothing on it. The first is SuSE7.1Pro, without any other OS's. Just seems like one could do that. Thanks, Tom
What bit didnt work? If it simply didnt boot its doubtless the LILO boot loader not working because of different geometry of your new disk.
Try booting from a boot floppy and reruning LILO.
