We did not break it intentionally. It's just the fact that at the time of 8.1 there was no Java compiled with gcc 3.2 which we compiled the distribution with. So the incompatibility broke Java with Mozilla. Other distributions have/have had that problem as well.
I understand that. But doesn't that beg the question: "what is more valuable, having everything compiled with gcc 3.2, or having a fully functional Mozilla?" I have been under the impression that Mozilla is a failrly important program. If the system can't show Java pages, only tech-heads are going to respect your reasons.
