Just wanted to lst everyone know that I got my DNS working.
Excellent!
One question I need answered has to do with my router (cisco 675). I am going to set up a web server on IP address 10.0.0.20 My router has IP address 10.0.0.1 My nat entry on the router would look like this #set nat entry add 10.0.0.20 80 209.67.50.203 80
I've configured Ciscos but never for NAT. If the above command redirects packets coming into port 80 on the external interface of the Cisco to 10.0.0.20 80, then that should be it.
The starting configuration is set to manage outgoing connections only. If I use the nat entry from above, is the router acting as a firewall, or do I need to put a firewall in place??
If you're running NAT on the router then your internal network is semi-protected. For additional protection I think you would need to add some filtering to protect both your router and internal network. Filtering out some ICMP stuff and source routed packets, etc. But as I said before I haven't done this on a Cisco so I can't help you there.
