Perhaps the slow user does not belong to group "video"?
No, 'slow user' does belong to video group. I'm looking for some other way of finding what's different between the two users.
It's all in the genes, you know.
Rather 'if (getuid() == xxxx)...'
Seriously, add your findings to the bug report. Currently I don't know what else to check except for environment variables.
I've found what was slowing nVidia for me: a file called .nvidia-settings-rc in my home directory. I deleted it, restarted X and glxgears now runs 20 times as fast as it did before. I don't know if this will help anyone else. I believe the file is created by an nVidia program rather than by a SuSE one. -- JDL -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
