And lord knows they (Mandrake) is just going bankrupt, what with 30% of the US market and growing, vs. SuSE's ~6%.
And SuSE's major market is Europe. That's why they service it first. My personal view is: Yes, I will buy the Pro version (about $120 Australian). I still have the full set of 6.4, and will probably hand that over to one of my students as an encouragement award. I will probably then buy the upgrades for the next few releases. Why do I do this? I don't have a mission-critical setup, nor do I do a lot of hacking on new applications. I do this because it is my way of supporting the Open-Source movement. A few of the dollars I spend get used by SuSE to provide support for XFree etc, and that salves my conscience for me, when I am enjoying the work of so many others. Is it such an alien philosophy, that everyone gives a little willingly, so that all can enjoy the outcomes? -- This Email is 100% Virus Free! How do I know?
