* Alberto García Fumero (fumero@cied.cu) [020904 07:20]: ::You should not use sendmail and KMail at the same time, IMHO. They compete ::for the mail, and the result is not desirable sometimes. If you want to use ::KMail, stick to it and do not use Sendmail. This is absolutely untrue. I have sendmail configured as a dummy MTA (it only sends mail) on both my workstation in the office and at home. If I use Konqueror to browse the net and happen to click on a talkback email address I can send the email with KMail using my work (also my isp) SMTP server if I choose and sendmail doesn't even see the email go out. My original email about this gentlemens problem was that he was trying to do these multi-pop configs with a different return address among other things. Sendmail takes to much to config if your just using popmail and a client that doesn't need it such as KMail. KMail will in fact call sendmail to send out it's mail if you so choose, but if sendmail itself isn't configured correctly then this is a fruitless effort. :) I'm not digging on you personally..it's just that your statement above is completely misleading..I'd recommend O'Reilly's Sendmail book. It's good reading. Not as current as I'd like...because sendmail is easier then it was when that book was written but it's a good start.
