Sergey - I think he's trying to read the Install CD from within Windows, and isn't able to figure out what to do with the CD from there. Mattias - Yes, I see what you mean. Sorry, I haven't looked at that in a long time. You are entirely correct. What you have is the installation CD, with the Gnome packages on the CD. So, assuming that it downloaded correctly, and burned to the CD correctly, and assuming you can in fact boot CDs, then the CD you downloaded and burned should work. As Sergey said previously, you need to boot directly from the CD. If you are unable to do that, then: You might try burning a second CD. You might try checking your BIOS settings to make sure that it is set to boot from CD before booting from hard drive. Some systems will boot from CD, but only try it if the hard drive has no OS on it, so maybe you need to re-order the boot order in the BIOS. If that fails, I'd try re-downloading the image again. Sergey just sent you the links to the KDE CD image - you might try that instead too.
