Hello,
still tinkering with my WLAN on OpenSuse 10.3. Usually it works as it should. But sometimes (once in 5 times?) it just doesn't connect. I see my WLAN but I cannot connect.
The problem is well known to me. Networkmanager failed to connect to my own wlan many a time with symptoms just like yours.
Possible solutions: Kick NetworkManager and use the 'traditional method' (in yast) to connect to your wlan - connects almost ever for me, but lacks flexibility
That's a possibility, but on the other hand, as KNetworkManagaer is here, it should work correctly, shouldn't it?
or switch to kubuntu. (K)NetworkManager works a lot better there.
Oh, but I am so in love with my openSuse, it would kill my heart :-) To be serious: if it works better in kubuntu, what might be the reason? Should I file a bug report for openSuse then? Any "screws" I could drive to make it work better here?
