Oh, sorry. It seems normal, but it misses this line: . /etc/rc.status That line is the one that passes control to systemd when needed, and it is missing. Also I see checks in the script for "/etc/SuSE-release", but the code only checks SLE, not openSUSE. Also, even before systemd, it was not enough to place a file in init.d, and create the symlinks: it was needed to run a program to insert the service in the chain: typically "chkconfig".
