I now understand the problem a little better, but still don't have a solution. It seems that if I bring up /smb (and probably many other things also) via a command window, Konqueror is invoked to display it (as it should be). But the view profile that Konq uses is *not* filemanagement, as I might have expected, since switching the view profile to filemanagement in fact gives me the detail view I want. So Konq is using some other view profile for that kind of invocation -- but which view profile is it using?
I just tested this feature on my desktop (SuSE 8.2, KDE 3.3.0), with the following results:
ALt+F2 (Run Command) '/home/aphilipp' : Konqueror comes up with the filemanagement profile.
If you change the view, save the (filemanagement) profile, and load /home/aphillipp again, do you get the changed view or the original view? I get the original view. (This is under SuSE 9.1.) Paul
