Then I went with zypper and *that solved* but istalled 0.12.4
that is what your error quoted above said was required. ??? versions must match or be compatable.
your nVidia repo is incorrectly configured. and you are apparently mixing versions, tumbleweed/15.5
I just noticed that but I don't know where it comes from, usually set up repos with Yast (zypper dup for updates). So in Yast the nvidioa repo is http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed and then (NB #2, where did that 15.5 come from?) # zypper lr Repository priorities are without effect. All enabled repositories share the same priority. # | Alias | Name | Enabled | GPG Check | Refresh --+----------------------------------------+--------------------------------------------+---------+-----------+-------- 1 | 0dxadatcompSUSETumbleweedtw-extrapacks | /0/adat/comp/SUSE/Tumbleweed/tw-extrapacks | Yes | ( p) Yes | Yes 2 | download.nvidia.com-tumbleweed | nVidia Graphics Drivers | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 3 | ftp.gwdg.de-Essentials | Packman Essentials Repository | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 4 | ftp.gwdg.de-openSUSE_Tumbleweed | Packman Repository | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 5 | https-download.opensuse.org-0cb670f5 | openSUSE:Factory | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 6 | repo-non-oss | openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Non-Oss | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 7 | repo-oss | openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Oss | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes 8 | repo-update | openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Update | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes
and imnsho, "zypper in" or "zypper dup" should *always* be utilized, unless you are very close to an expert operator.
I've been using yast only for repo setup and single or very limited package installs.
