No, the problem is not the NT's password encryption this time (nor is it any lock file problem by mixing ttyS1/cua1). The ppp-connection is established *beyond* the password enquiry. WinNT says, that ppp were now established. In the linux server's /var/log/messages I can read the unencrypted login/password. When watching the DUN-monitor of WinNT and the Linux server activity via 'tail -f messages', I can see, that both show the IP-address of the other peer as connected, but that only Linux will send packages to WinNT during it's ping. A ping on WinNT however will not result in the transfer of any packages ...
