Tumbleweed is basically the same as factory was. Made differently, yes. With caveats. In the repos, factory is often a symlink to tumbleweed. The factory mail list was never only for developers, but also for anybody using Factory; ie, for betatesters, that traditionally needed to be at least a bit of experts, not mere mortals. I've been looking for a reference to this, but I couldn't: the FAQ (opensuse-factory+faq@opensuse.org) doesn't mention anything about suitable content. But I remember :-) The assumption is that normal users of the stable release will not know about new features or differences implemented in the Factory release; thus asking here is a waste of time. And conversely, developers need to get feedback. But TW has been a big success, meaning that the factory mail list gets much more posts that it got before. We could accept TW in the standard mail list, but saying right in the header that it is a TW question. Perhaps adding a "[TW]" in the subject line. On the other hand, IMHO opinion developers should be more tolerant of the increased traffic, as it benefits the project, and wear asbestos clothes ;-) -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
