StartServers 5 is in your httpd.conf this tells apache to start up 5 servers. When you install just about any linux distro there are just about always a service or server you do not need Since I don't use Yast I can't be sure. But Yast should be able to turn off httpd which is started up at boot up. A kill -9 pid of httpd parent should kill the server too. you should have many gettys they handle the tty which is your termial. nfsiod I belive is from Network File System. If you don't mount another hd from another computer on your network you proably don't need it. charles <A HREF="http://theverge.com</A">http://theverge.com</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
