Hello, I have a problem trying to config my X-server. I have an AOpen P75 card, and I am using the s3v driver (s3 virge is printed on a chip on the card) and have specified the monitor settings straight from the manual. I know the monitor works perfectly cuz it has zero problems when I plug it into an NT machine.
But, the display is blurry, like I need glasses or something. Hurts my eyes, even. Someone on irc told me that I might be running too high a rez, but I only went up to 800 x 600.
You're probably just running at the wrong refresh rate. Adjusting the speed of the sync will probably improve matters. Try raising the lower limits. You might also try using SaX to auto-detect your card and then using the proper entry for your monitor from within SaX as well. On a personal note, my Optiquest Q71 runs better with the `Generic VESA (800x600@60hz)' settings than it does with the monitor-specific settings. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x107 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
