I have downloaded the openOffice from this url - https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html . But I am not finding a way to install it manually. I am using suse 13.1.
rpm --install <package> ?
Probably the file is called: Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz
So first comes gunzip (providing 45 rpms).
The gunzip will leave you with a tar ball that will then need to be untared. Then you will have a bunch of rpms. So just untar with the -zxvf options. Then you will have the rpms.
