This might have been one of those times. Overall, I agree with your sentiments re Canon, but in this case it seems the printer cambe before Linux, and even if not, you're berating the wrong person.
Sorry I didn't mean to 'berate' the questioner. However, I am 100% correct in my observations concerning Canon. I know and speak on authority because I have a piece of equipment from Canon that is simply not supported by them. I did purchase before I got into using Linux seriously so the same argument you have used could well apply to me. It does still stand though that Canon are very short sighted in their approach to only supporting MS and Apple. You mention that you have battled with Canon before now. Well done, I sincerely applaud you for this. Perhaps if more did this instead of moaning on mailing lists & forums then Canon would get the message.
