8.1 ftp install - no upgrade option?

Hi, I replicated the 8.1 FTP directory on a server and made the boot CD. I then tried to upgrade my SuSE 8.0 system, but there is no option to upgrade. There is only options for installing a new system and boot existing system. I have seen that this question has been asked before, but I have seen no answers for it. Are there any answers?
