BeOS strikes me as evolving towards the "perfect" (almost) desktop environment, and one which could easiby co-exist with Linux...either on the same desk, perhaps "fronting" for Linux, and thriving with Linux as the server of choice (I honestly believe the "bazaar" model of develpment will work better for servers than clients since clients have to live in close touch with hard-to-program humans). We'll know a lot more by the end of 1999.
