Following the excellent advice I've received right here at 'suse-linux-e@suse.com': I've re-compiled my kernel for sound, and using 'isapnp', I've got my Creative Labs SoundBlaster AWE32 PnP soundcard working without using the OSS driver. (this works for the newer AWE64's also, per testimonies) The benefits are: 1) better sound 2) RealAudio 5.0 works flawlessly The OSS driver is flawed as far as RealAudio 5.0 is concerned. For all of the posters who have been suffering from the "it cuts out after only about one second" RealAudio 5.0 syndrome, this is the answer! Thanks to all who have helped me in these matters!!!! ----------------------------------------------- Man's mind is his basic tool of survival!
