When I print from KDE everything is peachy. When I print from Evolution, it looks like something is happening, so I go stand by the printer. When I start growing moss on my north side, I figure nothing is going to happen.

When you click on File -> Print, you get a little window with a printer setting option. Does the name of the printer driver match what you think you have set up with Linux?
Yup. Now if I print from a kde app, it shows kprinter.

What other alternatives are available on the printer screen in Evolution? Is one of them a generic printer? If it is, try that one.
I have generic postscript printer and Create pdf. I just tried the generic printer (never thought of that before...duh!) and put in kprinter....it brought up kprinter, I clicked everything as normal, but nothing printed. I then chose lpr from Custom and still nothing. Under kjobviewer, nothing shows open. I just tried to print from a kde app and it worked fine.
