I was going to pekwm at Patrick's suggestion, but before I did, I did some software updates to my 12.1 system. Afterwards, I couldn't launch any window manager (KDE, Enlightenment, Xfce, awesome). They all would go to black screen, crash, and come back to the login screen.
I ended up reinstalling 12.1 to get things working again, assuming that there must have been a problem with 12.1 that was preventing awesome and the other desktop environments from booting. After reinstall of 12.1, I installed awesome from your repo thinking that the problems were behind me. Then I installed pekwm from Opensuse Build Service. But I can't start either of them, I have the same result as before. They go to black screen, crash, and come back to the login screen. I can start KDE, Xfce, Icewm, without any problems.
Ok my bad. I shouldn't have given my repo. Both awesome and pekwm are not for newcomers. Especially with the current storm in x11 changes it is even difficult for the experienced ones to sort out what the heck has gone wrong. I suggest if you want to stay within the safe guards of 12.1 uninstall everything that came from my repo and go back to the version came with 12.1 Sorry for the mess Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
