I know that it is possible to use a downloaded iso file to install opensuse without burning it to a DVD. I was asked by a Window user who is planning to change his OS if it would be possible to do this from a Window environment. Has somebody experience in this respect. The computer has no DVD or CD rom and the USB port is not working right now. Internet connection is okay.
Ubuntu does this via wubi. I have read somewhere that someone will adjust wubi for opensuse, although I cannot remember specifics at the moment. There is also the alternative option of PXE boot. You'll need a dhcp, tftp and http server for this. If you need more details, feel free to ask.
