Has anyone been able to get Leap 15 run Vmware as a host, specifically Vmware 12 branch?
Was going to switch to VirtualBox, but those packages in opensuse repositories are back level as well.
I'd go with virtualbox. Use the 13.2 packages at:
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.2.10/
and the vbox-extpack. Works fine. I have Windows, Arch and Leap 15 beta running in it without any issues.
That's what I downloaded. But when virtual box tries to compile it's drivers they fail on some opensuse source header file.
Haven't figured it out yet. Broken 4.12 kernel is my guess.
No, just install the kernel-source and headers.
They build fine with the following on 42.3:
kernel-default-4.4.126-48.2.x86_64 kernel-default-devel-4.4.126-48.2.x86_64 kernel-devel-4.4.126-48.1.noarch kernel-firmware-20170530-17.1.noarch kernel-macros-4.4.126-48.1.noarch kernel-source-4.4.126-48.1.noarch kernel-syms-4.4.126-48.1.x86_64
That's the last opensuse kernel it would compile against apparently. Leap 15 has kernel 4.12. (Broken and EOL). -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail.
