[opensuse] Wayland?

I've seen 'libwayland' come up a few times recently when running 'zypper up'. What is the status of the Wayland project wrt openSuse? I'm thinking that it would be nice to have a graphics server that supported Qt or GTK directly rather than the deep layers of X. I'm not convince Wayland is that, but lets face it, X was a solution to a problem of the 1980s, long before Pcs, long before the powerful GPUs we have today, long before the powerful CPUs and their advanced instruction sets. -- Warning: Klein Bottle.
