Thank you for the information. That was a great page that looked exactly like it should work, but *uugh* it didn't. I am uning 915resolution instead of the 855resolution so I will give that a try. Any other thoughts???

Is it started at booting? I had to put this in /etc/init.d/boot.local:
/usr/sbin/855resolution 3c 1400 1050
After that crystal clear picture. You should have to adapt above for your res.
Yes, I added 855resolution 30 1680 1050 to /etc/init.d/boot.local and I confirmed after reboot that the patch was correctly applied with 855resolution -l. So something else is amiss.
