Can someone please explain the following error message that prevents CrossOver (Windows emulation) to install on SuSE 10.3 ? I installed and used it successfully up to the last catastrophe occurred two nights ago when my monitor drive was messed up again by some on-line upgrade patch.
Which update exactly?
I could recover the monitor graphics performing the following:
<ALT-F2 > # pops up an xterm # init 3 # switch to runlevel3 # set graphics to a known working state # cd /etc/X11 # cp xorg.conf xorg.conf.broken # cp xorg.conf.install xorg.conf # init 5 # switch to runlevel3
This way I got a working graphics session again and could resume my project.
You could do a diff of both files to see what changed. Also, knowing the dates of both files (the original files, not the copied config) would help. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
