I doubt for _most_ users with 4GB or more of RAM that having any swap partition at all makes much sense. I have several systems with a far smaller swap partition than installed RAM size.
I have 8 GiB RAM. The other day, I was using about 3 GiB of swap.
I did have 12 on an i7 board and did sometimes use a small amount of swap, but had an opportunity to cheaply purchase 3 8gb and now have 36. I went for more than a month w/o using any swap so I removed it and haven't looked back for probably a year. ps: system is only specked for 24gb ram but never complained when I added the 3 older 4gb chips back onto the board :^).
