I noticed that present 2.4.x series kernels recommend a different gcc version than is presently supplied with 7.1 (gcc 2.95.2) and I'm guessing 7.2 (gcc 2.95.3, right?). What does SuSE use to build kernels for RPM distribution? Along the same line, are there any known issues with using the SuSE 7.1 toolchain to build 2.4.4 or newer kernel source? -- Kevin Brosius
