maybe so but for me it has gone very well except for one PC with a winmodem that hung the install. With other PCs that I have tried it on, it was incredibly easy and trouble free. I was amazed at the ease of configuring the firewall and printer setup.
I guess Windows XP will beat any Linux machine as far as Hardware compatiblity
Perhaps but then my HP315 digital camera doesn't work with XP because of some sort of incompatibility that prevents recognition of the memory but the camera was automatically recognized in SuSE 8.0 and worked with no trouble
My USB UMAX Astra 3400 scanner is will not work with Linux.
Haven't tried that yet The only thing I really have trouble with is my Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold. SuSE 8.0 had no trouble recognizing another Sound Blaster 16 ISA card but the Gold is not recognized and doesn't work. Overall, I would still say the same as the original poster: SuSE 8.0 is great!
