That card will probably give you alot of trouble with any cd burner running faster than 1x.
want to connect to it. I don't know anything about this card, and can't get any info from Umax's web site. If anyone knows anything about the card, please help.
Pardon my french, but that card is a piece of shit. If you're really determined to make it work, there should be an product ID silk-screened on the card. It is an Adaptec card with no BIOS. Build support for it into a new kernel and it should work. My advice, get an adaptec with a BIOS like a 2940.
That is perfect french regarding that card. I tried a couple of kernel builds to get that card to work as an Adaptec...no go. The only good use for that card, is if you have an old 486 that you want to use as a dedicated controller for the scanner. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
