[SLE] Thud?

Anybody have any tips on how to use Thud? Is it similar to any other drum machines that I can take a look at? I don't see any help info in kdehelp, no man page, no info page, etc., and I sent an e-mail a week or two ago to the guy that wrote it and I haven't heard anything back. I'm trying to start working with the available midi and other sound related stuff on Linux, and saw Thud with 6.2 but I don't even know how to get started with it. Any help would be appreciated.
