[...] OK, understood. However, the one-click method added in both repositories, and updated codecs and libs presumably from both. What do you recommend to do at this point. Would things work properly if I disabled the videolan repo and simply update from pacman only? Usually this will not install the corresponding packman packages, because they are from different vendors. You must force the system to take the packages from packman. What I would do is 'zypper dup --from Packman' (assuming packman is the repos name). The yast package manager has a similar ability. You must do that only once, after that you can - and should - update the normal way.
