I did a zypper up from konsole and after the next time I started my laptop the screen only boots to a black screen with the touchpad pointer visible.
I tried to go into runlevel 3 at bootup, and did a zypper dup to see if it would fix the problem, but no.
I next tried to boot into icewm and used yast to reinstall the nvidia nouveau driver, but that didn't fix the problem either.
What do I need to do to get the desktop to boot in kde 4.7, with the installed OpenSuse 11.4?
Just found out that the problem is repaired in the meantime. Just update.
I see the same black screen correctable by <shift><alt><f12>, but see no update.
looks like "zypper in --force 'libqt4 = 4.7.3-20.1'
is the correct answer
and zypper al libqt4 until there is a fix.
or run w/o desktop effects until there is a fix.
From the KDE list:
Hi everyone affected please try libqt4 packages from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/namtrac:/branches:/KDE:/Qt/o penSUSE_11.4/
Thanx a lot! It fixes the black screen bug for KDE:/Release:/47/ just fine.
