I've just discovered that it does the same thing with Drafts. IOW if I set Drafts to be saved to Local Folders, this is ignored and they get saved to the Drafts folder on the server.
Mysteriouser and mysteriouser.
I just tested than on my 42.1, changing draft to local/draft worked as expected (french version)

Thank you for testing. It seems to be a local problem, so maybe my best bet is to uninstall Thunderbird, clear out my existing profile to get rid of the faulty setting, then reinstall. I should be able to bring in my existing archived mail from a backup. Maybe tomorrow, as my grandson is helping me finish the beer leftover from Christmas/New Year. We're neck and neck. ;-) Bob -- Bob Williams System: Linux 4.4.36-8-default Distro: openSUSE 42.2 (x86_64) Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.26.0, Qt: 5.6.1 and Plasma: 5.8.2
