it's not possible to write to file:///etc/fstab
How can I overcome this barrier?
/etc/fstab is owned by <root> and you do not have rights to edit as /<user>. To make changes, you must become <root>, ie: sudo or su.
I did it for su as well as for root!!
Try another editor. Use "su -", not "su".

/snip/ What editors other than the user-unfriendly vi and emacs are available in a root console? I tried KWrite, but it was not recognized, and if I ever got into vi or emacs I would do more harm than good! --doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
