Hello!
I tried to install opensuse-10.1 with an encrypted /var partition. This created problems in the bootup process. It turns out that encrypted partitions are mounted later than ordinary partitions.
That seems so.
This creates some problems because /var/run, /var/log, /var/spool and so on are not available.
Is there any reason not to mount crypted partitions along with all the ordinary partitions?
BTW: Are there any plans to support crypted root?
Crypted root is a special case (you need to do it in the initrd) and should already supported AFAICguess. Jan Engelhardt --
