Dear sirs... i just bought a 7.0 P.E. and i need to setup a Lan Server based on it.
How do i...
1) Setup samba. I tried the Samba howto but i hadn't had much luck...
Samba howto is not that useful. To set up Samba you should read the documentation which comes with it and the online docs in swat. If samba rpms are properly installed you can set samba up just from swat, connecting with any browser to localhost:901
2) Setup Netatalk. The howto tells me to compile the kernel again, but before doing so i would like to know if somebody had the same problem i had...
I do not know anything about Netatalk, but I think you should not recompile the kernel again. I think Suse Kernel has got already everything compiled in. All howtos start with a "recompile the kernel" option, but it can usually be skipped if you are not on a very outdated distro.
3) Type a backtick. I know this one is silly, but on the italian keyboard, i have no backtick. At the very least, is there in Li- nux a keyboard map w/shortcuts???
I got an italian keyboard too.. but what is a backtick?
4) Is there something like ntsysv?
Thanks in advance
Gabriele
What is ntsysv? Tazio
