I had this problem too. What I did is go through ncurses yast (yast on the commandline). You will need to put in the nameservers for your isp and the default gateway of your network. In my Yast, change vie dhcp is checked for host and dns, but rigfht next to it it says no interface w/ dchp -- Michael S. Dunsavage

The following is a (probably temporary) workaround through the GUI (Yast Control Center) as I'm not too conversant with the CLI that worked on my PC: There are 2 Network Interfaces in the sytem: eth0 (Mainboard nvidia Ethernet Card (mcp73), that I don't use) & the TI NDIS Device referred to above (it's hot-pluggable to USB port of computer from the corresp port of DSL router...gets detected immediately). Tried setting the Ethernet to DHCP (as I don't use it), disposed off with the gnome Network Manager applet & ...the grayed-out buttons were not there anymore & I could de-select the DHCP option....then re-configured & entered the static IP, DNS's, & now the net connection is as before. As suggested by David, I have added to the indicated Novell Bugzilla thread (comment # 7)- https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=404663 == -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
