[opensuse] Intel Graphics

I am running 12 3 on a box with Intel GMA HD 3000 2000 on board graphics chip and KDE 4 10. I have two monitors attached and can set up dual screens using the kde settings. This does not affect other DE's such as xfce. Is there a way to set up the monitiors globally so that the setting is available to DE's other than KDE4 please ?
