The kernel does not change the KABI symbols, the old NVIDIA (and ATI) driver will continue to work.
(If you use the NVIDIA (or ATI) supplied KMPs.)
Also in the meantime new madwifi-kmp-* packages have been supplied in http://madwifi.org/suse/10.3/ to match the current kernels.
Ciao, Marcus Good news. :-) A little note like the following would have been nice:
"This kernel update does not require a corresponding update from Nvidia therefore you will have a version mismatch on the Nvidia driver packages"
Such negative statements are not helpful in my opinion. "You do not need to wait for full moon to install this kernel." ?
Even the other way round (positives) such Notes are barely read. :(
Ciao, Marcus
My apologies to you and the list as I had no reason to word my question the way I did. A simple yes/no question would have been much better on my part. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
