Hi,
Trying KDE after at least a decade with XFCE.
I use many virtual workspaces, or virtual desktops in KDE parlance. I have 6 in this laptop.
In XFCE, you can move around using [Ctrl][Alt][Cursor-Key].
In KDE that doesn't work. There is [Ctrl][F1], [Ctrl][F2], etc. It works up to F4, but F5 and F6 don't work.
Why, is this a bug? Something else?
There is another method, which is moving the mouse to the edge and insisting, in my case 250mS (setup in "Screen Edges").
In the dark-ages, you could simply add the shortcuts to ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals e.g. (my most used favorites) Switch to Desktop 1=default(Ctrl+F1) Switch to Desktop 2=default(Ctrl+F2) Switch to Desktop 3=default(Ctrl+F3) Switch to Desktop 4=default(Ctrl+F4) Switch to Next Desktop=Win+Right Switch to Previous Desktop=Win+Left Window to Next Desktop=Win+Alt+Right Window to Previous Desktop=Win+Alt+Left If I recall correctly, the same applies to plasma, but it has been a while since I tried it. You used to be able to simply use kcontrol (ksettings) and then Regional & Accessibility -> Keyboard Shortcuts to set them. If that has been removed in plasma, just edit kdeglobals and find and try setting: Switch to Desktop 5=default(Ctrl+F5) Switch to Desktop 6=default(Ctrl+F6) (you should be able to find the relevant Plasma setting -- may be similar if not exactly the same) -- David C.
